Banff is a unique, stunning location, and is home to 3 renown ski resorts, 1 of which is Canadian Rockies biggest ski resort, Lake Louise! Banff is based in the middle of a national park, it boasts first-class training, uncrowded pistes, epic powder, unspoilt views and a buzzing nightlife, and is widely regarded as one of the world’s best ski and snowboard resorts.
As one of the greatest ski towns in the world, Banff offers the snow enthusiasts a huge variety of terrain that will keep you excited day after day. You could spend your entire winter here and still not have seen or skied every trail. The mountain always has more to give, allowing you to continue your skill progression as the weeks go on. The truly diverse range of shops, restaurants, bars, and activities also mean that you will never be stuck for something to do when you aren’t skiing.
Banff is home to three resorts and we run our courses in the largest of the three, Lake Louise. It boasts the most varied terrain, has an amazing powder section, great long runs, lots of challenging steep sections, a great snow park, and also employs the most ski instructors, which means that the chances of returning as an instructor in following seasons are great.

2021/22 will be the first season post-Brexit and will add some red tape to what would historically have been a normal season for students from the UK. To work anywhere in the world now, incl. Europe, Brits will need a visa or permit to work. The Authorities here in Austria have said that they plan to have a ‘seasonnaire permit’ in place at some point in the future to allow workers short-term access to the employment market during the winter season.
Whilst this is potentially great news, this looks unlikely to be in place for the 2021/22 winter season and they haven’t released any further details on this as yet so it still leaves a little uncertainty on what will be required from UK nationals working in Austria.

Although SIA courses are amongst the largest in the World, we manage to maintain very intimate training groups of between 4 and 8, but with no more than 8:1 students per trainer in Austria, Argentina and France and 10:1 in Canada. This allows us to match similar ability levels per group and means no student should ever feel as if they are falling behind, or being held back because of the group they are in.
We have various options for accommodation on our courses, all of which are very comfortable. We use a combination of shared apartments, houses and chalets. There are options to to include a single room, half board meals or both! (subject to availability and supplement). See our Accommodation page for more details on your options.
YES! As an instructor, ski schools will offer you subsidised staff housing as part of your employment contract. Note: If your course does not include a Job Guarantee or you do not wish to take up your position then accommodation will only be included during your course dates.
