The Resort

France has some of the worlds best ski resorts and many of the mostly high acclaimed pistes, mountain restaurants and apes scenes that you will hear about, making Ski Instructor Academy’s newest course destination in Morzine, a very welcome addition.

Spread across a huge ski area, the Port Du Soleil is made up of 12 resorts crossing over France and Switzerland, making it the largest cross-border skiing area in Europe and one of the largest ski areas in the world.

With 660km of pistes connecting 12 ski resorts through France and Switzerland, some of the most recognisable being Les Gets, Morzine, Avoriaz, Châtel, Morgins and Champéry, there is terrain suitable for everybody no matter the level or experience. From long beautifully groomed blue and red pistes to the steep black’s to be found on and off the tourist routes, not to mention the Swiss Wall… Classed as one of the world’s scariest runs, it is sure to test the nerves and edges of even the bravest of victims…erm… I mean volunteers!

SLOPES

Morzine is seen as the capital and central point of the huge 660km cross-border Portes du Soleil ski area, which makes Morzine ski resort a perfect base for beginners and experts alike. While the large Portes du Soleil ski area with rolling pistes lure those seeking challenges on the slopes, the picture perfect tree-lined runs of Morzine’s local area is ideal for intermediate skiers honing their skills. For those that have a penchant for the steepest black runs in the Alps, head straight to Chammosière’s unpisted black run and the renowned Swiss Wall, but do so with a clear head and fresh legs – you have been warned!

Without a doubt the variety of skiing is unsurpassed, from wide open tree lined runs, various terrain parks and steep white knuckle chutes, you will struggle to believe you’re in a busy resort. It really does make adventuring around the whole Portes du Soleil ski area pay off with this much to explore. With 11-weeks at your fingertips, your trainers will be sure to make the most of your time and the ski area available to you.
